Submission Steps:
-
Put each submission in a Google Doc INDIVIDUALLY (meaning, if you have multiple submissions, please separate them into separate documents to make the review process easier!)
-
Title your submission (it should be the title of your doc! even art needs a title)
-
Keep your name off of the document and title to maintain anonymity during the review process
-
Submit your document into the Google Form for the semester. This form can be found in our LinkTree, through QR codes on campus, and here.
Submission Guidelines:
-
You may make a maximum of 5 submissions (of any kind) per semester
-
Maximum of 3 double-spaced pages per prose submission
-
You may submit any and every type of creative work that can be printed on paper: poetry, prose, short stories, short dramas, photography, sketches, paintings, etc. We've even included a QR code for original music compositions! Email us if you have any questions regarding unique submissions :)
-
ONLY ORIGINAL WORK (The College of New Jersey’s Academic Integrity Policy on plagiarism still applies)
-
If a submission does not initially get selected you are encouraged to revise and resubmit provided it is done so before we stop accepting new pieces for the semester.
Publication Policy:
By submitting a piece or multiple pieces for review to The Lion’s Eye, you grant us permission to publish your works online should your piece(s) be admitted into the magazine. Please be advised that other literary publications that you send submissions to may want first-print rights, and therefore please check with them before submitting works to The Lion’s Eye, as we are unable to omit your piece for online publication once our proof is set.
